Other Clinics

Well Woman Clinics – Cervical Screening

Cervical screening is performed by the practice nurse or one of our female doctors if preferred. We operate a ‘call and recall’ system. In addition to a cervical smear test, breast examination, advice regarding life-style, menopausal problems and family planning, is offered, where appropriate.

Travel Immunisation

If you are planning to travel abroad you should contact the practice at least 2 months prior to your planned trip as you may require vaccinations. We strongly advise that you should not leave it until the week before you go as many vaccines need to be administered a few weeks before travelling to ensure their full effectiveness.

You are required to complete a Travel Risk Assessment Form and return it to the practice. An appointment with the Practice Nurse will then be arranged.

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.

To help us offer you the appropriate advice, please complete the Travel Risk Assessment Form before visiting the practice.

Non NHS Work

The practice provides a range of non NHS services including medicals, reports, examinations for employers, solicitors, insurance companies, HGV licences etc for which we reserve the right to charge the standard fee recommended by the British Medical Association. Please note a charge is also applied for completing passport applications, holiday cancellation forms and insurance certificates. We need to prioritise our NHS work so you may have to wait for these types of work to be completed.
