Out-of-Hours
Service
When the surgery is closed, telephone
028 6632 7192 and a recorded message will tell you how to get in contact with
the doctor. However, if you need a doctor between 6.00pm and 8.30am and at weekends,
you can contact Western Urgent Care out-of-hours service direct on 0870
606 2288. This out-of-hours centre is now located at the Erne Hospital,
Enniskillen.
The emergency service is designed to deal with acute severe
illnesses where treatment will not wait until the next practice surgery. If you
feel you need to see a doctor, it is important that you telephone before attending.
DISABLED
ACCESS
There are reserved car spaces for
the disabled near the main door. We also have toilet facilities for the disabled.
LOOP SYSTEM
We have the loop system installed
for those with hearing impairment.
Interpreting Service
Presently we provide interpreters for the minority ethnic groups. However, the interpreting service request that bookings are made two weeks in advance. This service will continue as long as funding is available.
When A
Bereavement Occurs
If the death happens at home, please
telephone the doctor to come and certify the death (the doctor will tell you when
the medical certificate of death will be available).
If the death is sudden,
the doctor may not be able to give you a death certificate, but will instead ask
a coroner to be involved.
After death in hospital a member of staff will
explain to you when to collect the medical certificate of death. It is practice
policy for a doctor within the practice to visit the family home following a bereavement.
To
register the death, go to the Registrar of Births and Deaths during office hours,
taking with you:
1 The medical certificate of death
2 The deceased’s
NHS card
3 Pension book if applicable
4 Birth certificate if possible
You
will be given a death certificate by the Registrar. It is useful to obtain a few
copies of this, as you will need copies to close bank accounts, etc. |
