HOW
DO I...
CHANGE MY DETAILS ?
It is important to let us know of
any change of name, address or telephone number, so that your records are kept
up to date. Our practice area covers an area within a 16 mile radius of Enniskillen.
However, relatives of patients registered with the practice beyond this mile radius
will be accepted in the practice. If you leave this area you will need to register
with another doctor.
HOW
DO I...
OBTAIN TELEPHONE ADVICE ?
If you wish to speak to a doctor,
please telephone the surgery between 9.30 and 11.00am or 2.00 and 3.30pm. The
doctor on telephone duty will deal with your query.
HOW
DO I...
MAKE AN APPOINTMENT
?
Appointments to see the doctor of
your choice can only be made with the receptionist, either by calling at the surgery
or telephoning 028 6632 7192.
Please make a separate appointment for each person. If you cannot attend please
CANCEL as soon as possible, even with short notice; we can usually allocate your
appointment to someone else.
It is essential to report to reception on arrival for your appointment as all
appointments are computerised.
48 Hour Access
(Additional Surgeries)
If you require an appointment within
48 hours you may not be able to see the doctor of your choice, but you will be
able to see a doctor or an appropriate primary care professional within this time
frame.
Urgent Appointments
If you have an URGENT problem,
although you will be able to see a doctor that same day, it will be the first
doctor available and may not be your usual doctor. If you have difficulty contacting
the surgery and you believe EMERGENCY CARE is needed contact services by
dialling 999.
Sick Children
Sick children will always be seen as soon as possible if brought to the surgery
(this may be quicker than a visit). If in doubt about bringing your child out
please phone the doctor for advice.
Running
Late - A Word Of Explanation
We can understand your frustration when doctors or nurses run late. It is sometimes
difficult for medical staff to provide not only the best possible care but also
to work strictly to time. We always put your individual medical care above the
smooth running of our timetable.
HOW
DO I...
OBTAIN A HOME VISIT
?
Home visits are for patients who
are too ill to travel to the surgery. If possible, please telephone your request
before 10.00am so that the doctor can plan the visits for the day.
Please bear in mind that a doctor
can see several patients in surgery in the time it takes to do one house call.
HOW
DO I...
OBTAIN TEST RESULTS
?
Results of investigations, eg, blood
tests, x-rays, etc are available by telephoning the surgery. Results will not
be given to another person unless we have your prior permission. Please note that
results cannot be given out until they have been checked by a doctor. The
doctors will issue you with guidelines on when to contact the surgery for your
results. In urgent cases only, the doctor will contact the patient.
