SPECIAL
CLINICS AND SERVICES
Baby Clinic
Baby clinics are run on the second,
third and last Wednesday morning of each month. These clinics are run by a doctor
and health visitor for child development checks and immunisations.
You will receive a reminder from
the Health Authority when your child is due for immunisation. please ring the
surgery to arrange this appointment.
We expect all babies to have the
recommended vaccines as medically indicated.
Well Woman Clinic
This clinic takes place on the second
and fourth Thursday morning of each month and is carried out by the practice nurse
or female doctor. However, if clinic time is inconvenient for the patient, the
doctor will be only too willing to arrange a smear during normal surgery hours.
Patients will be invited by a letter when a smear test is due. This involves a
simple test to detect changes at the cervix which, if left untreated, may lead
to cancer. It is important to attend, when you receive an appointment.
Contraceptive Services
We provide a family planning service
and will advise you regarding all methods of contraception including the pill
and emergency contraception if needed. The practice does not insert intra-uterine
devices. Please make an appointment with the doctor of your choice during normal
surgery hours.
And we also offer pre-conceptual advice.
