COMPLAINTS

If you have a complaint or are concerned about the treatment you have received from the doctors or any of the staff working in the practice please let us know. We hope that most problems can be sorted out easily and quickly, often at the time they arise and with the person concerned.

If your problem cannot be sorted out in this way and you wish to make a complaint, it should be addressed to the practice manager.

COMPUTER

The practice is fully computerised and certain information is held about you on our system. This information is covered under the Data Protection Act.

Patients’ Responsibilities To The Practice

• Inform us immediately of any change of name, address or telephone number.

• You are responsible for keeping appointments with us and for giving adequate notice if you wish to postpone or cancel appointments.

• The surgery is very busy, especially before 10.30am; please keep your telephone calls brief during this period.

• You can reduce delays by remembering that an appointment is for one patient only.

Protection And Use Of Patient Information

Your medical records are held in the strictest confidence. Information is not passed on without your consent, unless such action is within the confines of the NHS or by legal requirement. The practice is computerised and registered under the Data Protection Act 1998. It is a practice and legal requirement that all staff maintain confidentiality of patients’ records.

Freedom Of Information - Publication Scheme

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 obliges the practice to produce a Publication Scheme. A Publication Scheme is a guide to the ‘classes’ of information the practice intends to routinely make available. This scheme is available from reception.
